At a recent promotional event for the Consumer Goods and Trade in Services exhibition areas of the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE), four companies — Crocs, Johnson Health Tech, Pacific Alpacas, and Huanyi Technology — signed contracts to participate in this year's event.
CIIE Bureau Deputy Director Li Guoqing said that the expo's Consumer Goods area has embraced the rise of the "Alpaca 2.0 era", attracting dozens of companies — Pacific Alpacas among them — who are introducing alpaca-based home textiles to the Chinese market.
Crocs, a returning participant, views China as its second-largest market globally. Varun Sehgal, Crocs' senior vice-president for Asia Pacific, highlighted the brand's localization strategies, including collaborations with local designers and celebrities to enhance consumer engagement.
The Trade in Services area, showcasing non-physical exhibits, welcomed new CIIE participant Huanyi Technology, a Singapore-based company specializing in environmental health and sustainable development.
"China's recent emphasis on green development presents a tremendous opportunity for us. Through this expo, we aim to empower more enterprises with our ESG (environmental, social and governance) governance solutions," said CEO Tang Bingjie.
